I am wanting to change the color of my instrument lights to blue LED's. But I think the guages have some kind of color filter to make the lights green. Does anybody know how to remove the color filter, or if I put the blue LED's in, will they shine though the color filter and still be blue?

the green is the color of the plastic, the only way to change that is to install after market gauges.

I changed the color of my gages to blue in my 86. The color filter behind them is actually blue but with poor yellowish lights behind them thy turn green. if you use some bright white LED's or pop out the color filters and use blue LED's it will work fine.
This is where i ordered my LED's from http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm

I ordered two type's
LED's in instrument panel

and
LED's in instrument panel

I ended up using the 1 LED's for my blinkers and the 5 LED's for my gages.
I found that you can't dim your gages anymore so if you like you gages dim try the 1 LED's first. for me thy where too dim.

I just swapped mine out for a cluster with a tach and sanded all the colors down and put white led's in. They look great. IMO colored one will look ricer.

what is the part number for the leds that you bought for the dash?
