Hello.

I have a 2009 XLT. I wish to get the factory headlights. Is there a process outlining what needs to be done for ths upgrade? How does the 09 differ from prior years in doing such an upgrade (meaning if someone has already done one for an 07 and the procedure is the same, I can just follow the 07)

Thanks.

Bluecar: I have a 1995 and added aftermarket driving lamps in a lower valance designed for them. My process is probably a little different than yours, so specific details aside, I would look up under the truck where the lights are to be mounted and see if there is any mounting points already there. You say there seems to be pigtails in place, that is a bonus, but would only work with OEM lights not aftermarket such as PIAA or HELLA.
Good luck with your project, hopefully someone will jump in with more specific details.

Well im not shure about the 09, but my truck was pre wired for fog lights all I needed was a radio bezel with the fog button, the relay, fuse, and the lights. Pull your bezel and dig around the right side for a 4 wire connector that has a yellow lock on it, that is for the fog button. look behind your front bumper for 1 round connector with 2 wires in them, there will be a connector for the right and left. Put the relay and fuse in the stock location, and presto you have stock fog lights.

I noticed the fog light button is perhaps in a different place. Where others have the fog light button, I have a 12v power source. There is a "delete" of something right above.

Tomorrow, I will post pics (aren't they always mandatory ;) ) of what I believe is the pig tail and of my dash.

Can anyone look under their truck so I can find the part number to the fog lights? I am having a tough time finding them from ford without going through the dealer.

Interesting....I thought the switch to turn on the fog lights was the same switch to turn on the head lights.

On my truck, where you have the 12V acc, I have a light that says something about the passenger airbag and where you have the fog light switch, I have a 12V accessory.

look behind your radio bezel and see if you have the plug tucked away, when you remove the bezel you will see there is 3 or 4 switch locations.

can you post a pic of your bezel so i can get an idea what air bag light your talking about.

Careful, I think that "Delete" that you're talking about is actually an indicator light for the P side airbag-there's a weight sensor in the seat and the airbag automatically shuts off if you're carrying something between 10-50lbs (not certain about those weights but you get the idea). I'm surprised the dealer didn't explain that to you.

The fog lights should be controlled by pulling headlight switch out from the dash. If you didn't get fogs as a factory option I wouldn't be surprised if you needed to change you headlight switch/pigtail, in that case you'd be better off to just add a switch in for them.

I'll take a look under my 07 at lunch and see if I can find you a part#.
