Hey, any of you guys painted/Rhino Liner/Line-X your fender flares? I was wondering how it turned out, and if you could give any pointers. I'm thinking about either painting all the grey plastic exterior trim/fender flares black or line-x/rhino lining them. Thanks for the input!! :icon_thumby:

Does the roll on stuff work at all on the fender flares?

The roll on stuff (Herculiner) will stick to anything, including your "Hootus".:icon_rofl: I don't know where the link to that site/ theard went though.

I was wondering this same thing about this time last year, and I just ended up masking them off, spraying them black, then hitting it with a couple coats of Rock/ Chip Gaurd. Looks pretty good, and still glossy, and not too rough.

Here's what mine turned out like. I'm real happy with it.

Nice.... did you use the Krylon Fusion paint? I ended up using multiple coats of the $8 professional Duplicolor Underbody Rubberized spray cans that I got from Pep Boys on mine lol, its holding up pretty good...

I coated my flares, and did the lower plastic part of the front bumper... I was going to do the plastic part of the rear bumper.. but I couldn't get it off!! :shok: I probably would have ruined it trying to remove it. So, I will just mask everything off and paint it on the truck some time.

While I was at it, I picked up a can of that Krylon Fusion paint, and painted my grille black.

I'll post pictures soon. Thanks!

Yeah.. me too.

I had seen a guy paint his (not a Ranger) and also the bottom third bottom panels.

I am not sure I liked the particular almost popcorn looking texture. :icon_confused: (like the texture you would see on an older home ceiling.) It definitely had that "outdoorsy" look rather than dogboy's look.

I would definitely have to see examples before I plunk down some dough. :icon_welder: Durability factor 1st...then Esthetics would be #2 on my list.

I found this blog post after I did some digging on the "Wipe New" and "Detail Doctor" ads. It's up in the air on both product b/c everyone is a "critic". Although both products do not get necessarily "rave" reviews from consumers. Detail Doctor did horrible.

Take it easy and let me know.
