i manage to blow a hole in the bottom of my dana 35 so i was going to see if there was any upgrades compared to the alum one that comes on rangers. anyone know of any after market housings that are strong? if not does anyone have a dana 35 housing for sale? i am probably going to be rebuild my front dif in jan or feb

The upgrade is to get rid of the drop plate that came with your lift kit for the passenger side beam. The higher end kits come with a completely new bracket with increased clearance to the differential to prevent this from happening.

There are no aftermarket 3rd members made for D35's that I am aware of. The stock one is fine unless you have that stupid drop plate...

3rd member????? idk is that the housing part of the dif? i have never heard it called that. but you said empty so i would assume.

Yup, 3rd member, housing, pig, pumpkin...everybody's got a different name for it. It is the section on any axle that contains the gears.
