Fan blower problem

My daughters boyfriend has a 2006 Colorado and the blower fan will only work on 4 and not on 1,2,3. Has anyone had this problem and to repair it did you install a new switch or a new resistor in the fan box under the dash? All help is greatly appreciated! Thanks D.J.

It's the resistor. Very common problem.

yep resistor. actually a common problem on all vehicles...

Any ideas as to where it is located and a part number for a new one, I'm not familar with the resistors and where they would be located on the Colorado.

near the blower. and ask a dealership for the part#, its their job! lol. just always bring them your vin#
