Just scored this today for free,

looked at most of it. It is very in depth. I can't wait to begin the tear down for operation 83 Beast! :headbang:

Plus I finally got my garage straightened back up where I can find all my stuff and have room to tear the motor proper like! :yahoo:

Yes I will do a build thread Now all I gotta do is find the one for Ford AOD Trannys and I'll be all set! . :icon_thumby:

More work done tonight!

Tear down has begun. I switched the motor over to my new motor stand and put the tranny on the other one. Had to lower the motor back down onto a tire to loosen the crankshaft bolt.

Had to have my son help hold it with a crowbar on the flywheel, but he didn't have enough ass LOL.

So we put a tranny bolt in and use some vise grips on the flywheel and we got it.

Tomorrow all accessories and the carb and heads and intake come off! :headbang:

No, were going to Nashville this weekend goober, where you been? Text works both ways duffus! I am taking the kids to the dollar movies on Saturday cause Kari's mom, my least favorite person are coming over here to finish plundering all of Grandma's goodies. So before I say something I shouldn't I decided I'm taking the kids out. I am planning to go to the car meet at Food City with the mustang Saturday night if you want to go. If we're not in Nashville that is. LOL

Yeah, I'm working on it. I'll get around to it as soon as I make sure it's not overheating anymore. Actually I'm gonna tear it down next year and I'll do it then when I put it back together.

Progress!!

Goat a new 1000lb engine stand and switched over the motor to it and started the tear down.

Got off all the accessories and the carb. Today will be the exhaust and heads and intake manifold, should be done by the end of the week.

I took the bolt out of the distributor and tried prying with a pry bar, but I couldn't get it to budge, anybody got any ideals on how to get that out would be great. I don't want to hammer it too much cause I want to try to rebuild and reuse it. Here are some pics. :icon_thumby:

More sucess!!

With the help of Jim AKA B2Guy we got a lot done today. Finally got the distributor out and got both heads and the intake manifold off. It looks great fro a 64 original motor! We got 4 of the 8 pistons out and it all looks great. The cylinder walls look good with no scratches and the pistons even look good. The piston bearings only have a little wear on them and the crank journals look great! :icon_thumby:

Next is the last 4 pistons and the water plugs and freeze out plugs and she is ready to go to the machine shop! :headbang:
