First post here and looking forward to learning many new things here.
I recently acquired a 94 B3000 that has a few problems. I have been working on the truck in my driveway for a few weeks. So far I have done a basic tune-up... oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor. It also needed a new battery and fuel pump. After all that stuff the truck was running good, until the morning I tried taking it to get inspected, and of course it wouldnt start. The engine cranks but wouldnt fire up. First things first I went to the distributor because I know that it is losse , I tried advancing the timing and retarding it knowing it had worked in the past when I first got the truck. That didnt work this time so I pull a spark plug, grounded it to the intake manifold and had someone turn the key, there was no spark. After a few hours of trial and error I could not find the problem. The last thing I did was check the main relays. Knowing the three fuses are the same, I switched the A.C relay with the E.E.C relay then tried to start it again, and finally it started up. I then turned the distributor so its idling at 600-800RPM as I dont have a timing light. So would a bad E.E.C relay cause no spark? I dont want to drive somewhere and be stranded.
