Hey i am putting a 3 inch body lift onto my truck next week can i still have a step bumper hitch after the lift or should i get a hitch that mounts to the frame?

My 2 cents worth.... get the hitch if i'm not mistaken when you do the body lift you use lift brackets to raise the bumper too. That being the case you will have a weak point attaching bumper to frame so a frame mounted hitch will be your safe option for towing. The tech library even says this about body lifts. Besides if you tow something more than once a year a frame mounted hitch is the best investment you can make. Plus it opens you up to alot of accessories you could use with it.

x3 on the frame hitch. you could use your bumper if you don't raise it up, but that may look a little too crude for you. and as said, you can do lots more with a frame hitch than you can with just a ball on a bumper.

That isn't rated for any more than just towing on the bumper would be. Get a class III hitch.

*sigh*... yes, just get a proper Class III hitch. Curt and Reese are a couple of the main brands...

the frame mouted hitch will also give you a solid anchor point for being pulled out of a stuck or pulling someone else out of a stuck.

Whe you do the body lift, the bumper being moutned to the frame wont be lifted without the accesories to lift the bumper too, AS long as the bumper is in the low position you can continue to use it the same. But after you get the lift bracket for the bumper then you need to get a frame moutned hitch. Its just nicer and safer.
