The split 3 spoke GT wheels from a 94/95 GT fit and you can use the center caps as well.

They fit much better on a 2nd gen, but a 5th gen, they are too inboard for my liking, but they work without rubbing. I'll get the 5th gen shots up after my event on Sunday.

91 Ranger, 2wd. The tires are 245/45/17

03 Ranger, 2wd. The tires are Kumho Ecsta SPT 245/45/17. The truck is in a hardish turn right now so the wheel gap is used up a little, but you get an idea.

-I have 17x9 AFS bullet replicas on my '88 Gen I with 245/45/17 and the center cap goes on fine. no clearance issue unless i turn hard left to lock, then it will rub slightly.... :icon_idea:

I currently have 15' inch wheels from a 1995 Mustang on mine. Like Jim Oaks mentioned, I had problems with the front hubs not clearing, so I found some washers and put on the wheel studs for shims. The center caps snapped on with no problem afterwards.

07 2wd Ranger XL.
17" 94-95 GT's w/ 245/45/17 Ecsta SPT. They fit better on the 07 than the 03. Again, no modification required. 255/45/17 would look better but it would push me into a different class.

Most of you prolly already know this, however, Having owned nothing but mustangs, (currently on my first ranger) a little known fact is that mustangs have a mid offset, most wheels stock and aftermarket are labeled fwd/rwd. Except the mustang, their wheels arent classified as rear wheel drive like you would think. they are mid offset, this affect mustang wheel fitments on other vehicles.

Correct me if im wrong.
I thought all you had to do was match bolt pattern.
Isnt a mustang 5x4.5 as well as rangers?
A buddy of mine had an old toyota supra with some after market 19" rims with the same bolt pattern. and we traded rims for a day just for the hell of it. Obviously my stock 14" wouldnt even clear his brake rotors but his rims fit on my truck. they did rub when I turned sharp because the wheels were so wide (I forget how wide exactly). but other than that they fit, If I wanted that gawdy look.

Ive always wanted to put some 5 spoke 17" Mustang GT rims on my truck. but yall know more than I do about the subject, would they just bolt up?

i have 16" lincoln rims on my truck..and they don't rub..i think the width before spacers are needed is 7" The rims look pretty good though..

if I go with 17"x8" rims what are my tire options do I really have to stick with light truck/suv type tires or can I use car tires? Its not like I haul heavy loads or tow anything. if car tires wont work then can someone recomend a good street truck tire. nothing too fancy not looking to put eagle f1's on just a cool tread pattern and long wear life. maybe an all season.

if you dont really haul any thing you dont need an Lt tire. any michelin pirelli and you gotto be careful with toyo's my friends seem to have problems with wear on them. my friend jr has a bagged '02 ranger runnin 18's with 225/either35 or 40/r18 bfgoodrich kdw's and he loves 'em
