Is recalling 42,540 combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies of various part numbers sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. These headlamps fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." These lamps do not contain the required amber side reflectors. Consequence: Decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash. Actions: Dope, Inc. 1993 Ford Ranger EXTERIOR LIGHTING NHTSA Campaign #09E012000 Date Announced: APRIL 07, 2009 Vehicles Affected: 16,270 Summary: Sabersport is recalling 16,270 combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies of various part numbers sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. These headlamps fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." These lamps do not contain the required amber side reflectors. Consequence: Decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash. 1993 Ford Ranger EXTERIOR LIGHTING: HEADLIGHTS NHTSA Campaign #08E050000 Date Announced: AUGUST 11, 2008 / Vehicles Affected: 1,921 Summary: K2 motor is recalling 1,921 aftermarket headlamps of various models sold for use on the above listed vehicles. These headlamps are missing the amber side reflex reflector which fails to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." Consequence: Without the amber side reflex reflectors, the lighting visibility may be affected, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Actions: K2 motor will notify owners and offer a full refund. 1993 Ford Ranger TIRES: TREAD / BELT NHTSA Campaign #01X001000 Date Announced: MAY 22, 2001 / Vehicles Affected: 13,000,000 Summary: This is not a safety recall in accordance with the Safety Act. However, it is deemed a safety improvement campaign by the Agency. Equipment description: Ford is replacing all Firestone Wilderness AT 15, 16, and 17 inch tires mounted on Ford trucks and SUVS. Ford reports tread separation can occur due to a combination of the sensitivity of the tire design to stress, aging, and manufacturing differences between plants. Ford is replacing these tires to prevent possible premature tire failure. Vehicle description: The vehicles listed below may have been originally equipped with Firestone Wilderness AT tires or may have had Wilderness AT tires installed during the Firestone recall launched in August 2000. Certain 1991 throught 2002 Ford Explorer certain 2001 throught 2002 Explorer Sport, and Sport Trac certain 1997 through 2002 Mercury Mountaineer certain 1991 through 2001 Ranger certain 1999 through 2001 Expedition certain 1991 through 1994, and 1997 model year F-series certain 1991 through 1994 Bronco note: Both original equipment and replacement tires are affected. Consequence: Should the tread separate at highway speeds, a vehicle crash could occur, possibly resulting in personal injury or death. 1993 Ford Ranger EXTERIOR LIGHTING NHTSA Campaign #06E026000 Date Announced: MARCH 23, 2006 / Vehicles Affected: 61,944 Summary: Certain pro-a motors corner lamps, turn signals, and headlights sold as replacement lamps for use on certain passenger vehicles listed above. Some combination lamps that are not equipped with amber side reflectors fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. Consequence: Without the amber reflectors, the vehicle will be poorly illuminated, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash without warning. 1993 Ford Ranger TIRES: TREAD BELT NHTSA Campaign #00T005000 Date Announced: AUGUST 21, 2000 / Vehicles Affected: 14,400,000 Summary: Tire description: Firestone Wilderness AT, size P235/75R15, produced at the Decatur, Illinois tire plant and all Firestone radial ATX and radial ATX II tires, size P235/75R15. Operation of these tires at low inflation pressures, high speed, and in hot weather, can contribute to separation of the tire tread. Consequence: If the tread separates from the tire, the driver can lose control of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash causing injury or death. 1993 Ford Ranger SERVICE BRAKES, AIR: DISC: ROTOR NHTSA Campaign #98E010000 Date Announced: APRIL 08, 1998 / Vehicles Affected: 23,500 Summary: Equipment description: Aftermarket brake rotors for use on certain Ford and Mazda trucks. Cracked castings caused cracks to appear on the outer diameter of the rotor hat or around the stud hole. Consequence: Loss of braking can result. Actions: Aimco will reimburse consumers/installers for the cost of replacement rotors and installation. Consumers are requested to return to the location where the rotors were originally purchased/installed for replacement. 1993 Ford Ranger SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: POWER ASSIST: HYDRAULIC NHTSA Campaign #96V024001 Date Announced: FEBRUARY 05, 1996 / Vehicles Affected: 108,000 Summary: The studs which attach the brake master cylinder to the power brake vacuum booster assembly can develop stress corrosion cracking after being operated for an extended period of time in the southern California location. Consequence: If a crack occurs, it could result in one or both studs fracturing. The master cylinder could then separate from the vacuum booster, when the brakes are applied, preventing the service brakes from activating increasing the risk of a vehicle accident. 1993 Ford Ranger VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL NHTSA Campaign #95V231001 Date Announced: DECEMBER 05, 1995 / Vehicles Affected: 26,000 Summary: During extreme cold, northern climate winter conditions, ice can form in the throttle body of the engine causing the throttle plate to remain in the highway cruising position after the accelerator is released or the speed control is deactivated. Consequence: The vehicle stopping distances can be increased possibly resulting in an accident. Actions: Dealers will replace the air intake duct and valve assembly with revised units. 1993 Ford Ranger PARKING BRAKE: CONVENTIONAL NHTSA Campaign #94V169001 Date Announced: SEPTEMBER 07, 1994 / Vehicles Affected: 835,791 Summary: The parking brake control self-adjust pawl does not line up properly with the self-adjust rachet causing the pawl to slip over one or more teeth in the ratchet. Consequence: When the above occurs, it can result in parking brake system ineffectiveness. The parking brake will not hold the vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll freely, if the transmission is not left in gear. Actions: A wedge will be installed which will serve to lock the parking brake self-adjust mechanism pawl into engagement with the ratchet. Also, owners will be advised to release and reapply the parking brake whenever tooth skip occurs and will be reminded to always turn off the engine and leave the vehicle in gear when the vehicle is parked.
