I haven’t posted on here in a long time, so I figure I might as well share this one.
I did a D30 SAS from a WJ grand Cherokee because of the bigger brakes, better steering, and 3” wider than a Cherokee axle.
I had heard most people use a Toyota steering box, but I wanted to try to use a Ranger box just to keep it all Ford, and it fit fine, tight, but fine.
Then the rear got an ARB, and I built some bumpers to match Ranger’s bumpers.
Then I decided to pull the trigger on a project I’ve wanted to do for years, a Ranger nose on an Explorer. I figure if the mini truck Ranger guys do it, I can go the other direction.
The nose swap isn’t finished yet, but it’s getting there, amongst other projects.
