I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
if ford does its usuall poor job of promoting, it wont even compete with a step 2 car.
Maybe they'll make a Bronco emoji.

wow.... I can actually see ford hiring a full team for something as stupid as a damn emoji. I've been losing faith in Ford and this is just icing on the cake. If I had the money, my truck would be long gone and I would probably be in a Toyota. Sorry ford but Toyota's are tried and true and have a lot less issues, oh and they are better off-road vehicles. Way to blow it, again, Ford!
lol... Toyotas have their issues too, just too many people are reluctant to admit it because they've poisoned their minds drinking too much Toyota Kool-Aid (especially those who buy used ones).

I also think that the aftermarket will play a huge role in the Bronco's success competing with Jeep. If they don't develop some cool reasonably priced bolt on stuff... the popular vote will probably stay with Jeep in the general DIY'ers viewpoint.
This is very true, however it's mostly up to Ford to provide the aftermarket easy access to the vehicle (something Jeep has done reasonably well). If the truck has too many swoopy body lines for example, it'll be tougher for the aftermarket to make side body armor for it. I think I saw someone mention somewhere that the '19 Ranger has the ring gears welded to the differential carrier, forcing anyone who wants to simply change ratios to buy a whole new differential (a non-issue if you're also tossing in a locker, but otherwise, it creates an unneeded expense). Crap like that.

Take the Ford badging off and it looks just like the IH Scouts from the 60's and 70's.

When I first saw the picture... my mind went straight to a one and done entry from GM. They sure made some really bad choices about the same time they went bankrupt. I lived it everyday...

That's it, back to Mopar. Anyone have a first gen Dakota they want to sell? ?
I hear Dodge is bringing out a new Dakota soon enough..

What I really wanna know is, why would Ford even waste the time, effort, resources, and money to make an emoji, let alone a video about it? I'd like to see the cost involved as far as what they spend on just the video production alone. They're getting awfully good at pissing customers off. Not giving customers what they want..

I was thinking about that this afternoon. Trying to figure out how many new Rangers they'd have to sell to pay for this horsesh*t ?

apparently this was more important. I have yet to see a full fledge "RANGER" commercial, and have seen this one twice in one day, on television. i honestly think they're scared of not selling more F150's than Chevy sells Sierra's, so they aren't promoting any thing that may take away from that. Maybe they think the Bronco won't and the Ranger will. The Bronco is more of a second vehicle, and the Ranger is a very attractive alternative to the F150.

I feel the whole reason ford quit on the ranger a few years back was the “thinking” that ranger owners would just move up to the F150, they want to keep that # high and stay above gm 1/2 ton sales. I personally wouldnt want a F150 past the ‘96 model year. I dont know why the ranger was brought back, such little promotion. the brief commercial ive seen is about getting to a adventure, not having a adventure with the ranger. whats next, a 2020 endorsement of hillary?

It's too big. Not a real Ranger.

If I was in Ford management, there's some people that would be worried about job security.

It's like there's to much old blood, and not enough new vision.

Ford needs to see their trucks as more than a vehicle that hauls shit. There's more to it than payload and towing capacity.

If my company spent that much money to bring the Ranger back, we're going to promote the shit out of them.

I wouldn't have just loaned a few. I would have given a few away.

Give one to Ken Block, and see what he can do with it.

I'd consider giving one to Gas Monkey garage, and give them access to any Ford engine they wanted to try and stick in it.

I'd build a better offroad package than the competition, which wouldn't be hard starting with the current FX4.

I'd have a whole Ford display at Overland Expo.

I'd have my engineers designing a lightning version. Lowered with a tuned up 3.5 twin turbo EcoBoost.

You'd see the thing in so many outlets, you'd be convinced you had to have one.

The Ranger isn't going to steal sales from the full size truck market. People that but full size trucks, buy them for a reason. And if someone is tempted to switch to a midsize instead, you damn well better make sure it's yours.

If I wanted a full sized truck and felt it would be of more use to me than a small or mid sized truck, I would have bought one. I don't need or want a full size truck. At least not at the moment.

I don't want a F150 or Ram 1500. Don't want anything bigger either.

I'm going to sound 40 years older than I am now:

They're too big.
You can't judge them easily.
You can't park them in parking garages.
You can't parallel park them.
They're too freaking heavy.
The Interiors are solid plastic
There's no room to work on them without tearing stuff apart.
Nothing is designed to be repaired without an eleventy billion ton shop press and a $5500 scan tool.
NOTHING IS CHEAP TO REPAIR.
Not much can be modified beyond what some jackass in Detroit designed (Jeep is the exception here).

I kept my Ranger because it's a fun vehicle. The slim dimensions, the simplicity of the design (little touches like how far back the mirrors sit on the doors, and how you can adjust them without reaching), the fact that you can see every square inch of the vehicle from the drivers seat are all design elements that I like. The fact a clutch is $60 and a brake rotor is $50 means I WILL ACTUALLY GO HAVE FUN WITH IT WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE OUT A NEW MORTGAGE WHEN I BREAK STUFF. The fact my extended cab DOES NOT HAVE REAR SEATS IS FREAKING AWESOME. It's a dry cargo area. You know, for stuff you want to keep dry and as cargo within arms reach.

Ford seems to be gearing their marketing towards too many audiences at once. Everything they are building is complicated, bulky, and bland. They're drowning their designs in features that are for everyone and no one.

I agree with @85_Ranger4x4 on this one in principle: build me a damn "farm truck" edition. Get rid of the plastic. Leave exposed metal in the cab. Trim down the features, but don't make it look like sh*t like the XL models do. Single cab or extended cab without rear seats. Give me storage, not Sirrius.

Hell, trim down the whole truck on dimensions. I don't care that a sheet of plywood doesn't fit between my wheel wells. I want to be able to park in the inner city, and fit between trees on a trail.

Build me a truck, not a lifted minivan.

For my playtoy I do like my stupid basic cheap/easy to work on truck.

For a dd I would be perfectly content with an STX FX4 Screw Ranger. I need room for my dog in the back who goes to work with me every day and with a kid on the way room for kid would be nice too.

And my '85 does have Sirius
