who is switching to a ranger for many reasons. I am looking forward to learning all about Rangers, and building a nice driver.

Seems to be an influx of VW folks showing up here... We WILL quietly take over at some point.

Took you long enough to get here dubdoc… you been missing all this fun since about 1983.

Thanks folks. I built and loved the little truck for 13 years. Did about anything you could do to it and became a bit of an expert along the way.
I am looking forward to a nice short-cab, short-box 4-cylinder 5-speed stepside Ranger. I'm thinking a turbo 4 would be just right.

I forgot to mention your Caddy... pretty cool doc. Still have it... or is it down the road?

I wanted one in a bad way for years... never came across the right deal. I've played with a bunch of VW stuff starting back in 79... mainly air cooled. Owned a buggy shop for umpteen years along the way... made a little money... made a bunch friends. I did put a GTI engine mated to a 4.86 bus trans in a caged Baja Bug and get this... I give it a heater core too. Super fun toy.

Any way... you need to know something about getting your new Ranger where you want it to be... just ask. A bunch of people are usually willing to help.

And just because.... time to un-pimp the auto

Sounds about like me. Was a VW Parts Manager back in the early 70s, and always wanted a pickup. Took me 4 years to find this one. Oh, and was a Meyers Manx dealer for 3 years. Still love aircooled (had a 1960 bug with 356 Porsche power). Anyhoo, time to move on and get something a bit more modern.....sold the little truck (old Rattle & Haul) about 2 months ago. Thanks for the offer of help. I imagine I'll have lots of questions.
