  1. Need ball joints, anyone know if these are press in or do i need control arm

My 2000 2WD had replaceable uppers. I changed them when I did the lowers. Then a few months later, I did the control arm bushings...... So now I have rebuilt OEM control arms with way more hassle than just replacing the whole thing.
  2. Low compression and misfire.

Good luck, I went through all the same on mine: https://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?threads/head-swap-on-2000-3-0.177236/
  3. Heater core flush

Cold weather finally made it this far south. I noticed the Ranger's heat was very lacking. I checked and changed the vacuum lines to the canister in the fender and to the heater hose shut off valve. Then I checked the blend door actuator and all was well with it. So I ran the truck and got it...

  6. Head swap on 2000 3.0

The Ranger has been making 150 mile round trips for work every day right now. It is running regular unleaded with no pinging whatsoever. It has: 180 degree thermostat in it Intake coolant loop bypassed SCT tuner 87 octane performance tune on the computer OEM MAF Aftermarket smooth intake tube...
  7. Oddball size spare to match aftermarket rims

I am running 225/70R16 tires on my truck on aftermarket rims. I dropped my spare today just to check it and it was low on air. I checked the date code which is "319" which means 31st week of 1999. so the spare is 20 years old. After looking around, the comparable 15" rim tire size is 225/75R15...
  8. 2001 running rich, no power, poor MPG’s

Does it run more rough idling after its warm or after you run it hard?
  9. Photos of different wheel/tire sizes on stock and lowered 2WD's

A while back, I was considering a set of Ford Flex rims for the truck, but didn't want to have to bore the centers or get spacers installed so I went with the American Racing rims pictured above. But they would have looked good:
  10. Cam Synchro - Not Exactly Accessible....

If it helps any, this is the view of a new synchronizer installed in the correct position with the #1 cylinder at top dead center. Also, take a air gun and blow off the back of the block around the synchronizer before you remove it. Any dirt around there will fall in the hole as soon as you...
  11. New headlights on my 2000

I had enough Amazon rewards built up to pick these up for free. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008G23AUQ The reviews seemed good, and even if they don't last very long, I am going to take my time to sand and re-clear coat my OEM headlights to get them looking good again and keep them...
  12. 3.0 misfire cylinder 1 at idle when warmed up

I had to do heads and head gaskets on mine at 180,000 miles: https://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?threads/head-swap-on-2000-3-0.177236/
  13. 3" exhaust?

Here is a clip of the above exhaust with a new dynomax replacement muffler just installed:
