Wondering if anyone has installed a Throttle Body spacer, and what their thoughts are on its performance once it was installed; any problems or are you satisfied with the way it is performing?

Wondering if anyone has installed a throttle body spacer on their Ranger. Mine is a 93, 3.0........Any problems with the performance of the spacer, any increase in power or fuel milage; any "check engine light problems" or the such?

Has anyone experienced their Rangers engine constantly racing up rpms to about 3000 and staying there for about ten seconds and then coming back down to a more normal rpm. It seems to happen only in the summer hot and humid months.

During the high heat of summer my 93 3.0 six will race up to about 3000rpm for about ten seconds or so and the drops back down to normal. This is happening almost constantly in high heat and humidity of summer. In winter this will happen only very rarely if at all. Any ideas?
