    Bogging issue

89 2.9 Bronco 2... After cold start up, when I shift from 1st to 2nd, no matter how much throttle I apply or how much I wind up the rpm's, the motor bogs down hard. Not enough to choke it out, but pretty close. 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, no issue. Once the motor warms up, the 1-2 shift is normal. Thoughts?

    Post Transwap Timing

I switched to a FM146 from an A4LD. .. tech article suggests timing change, but doesn't say what to adjust it to. It idles high and has weak top end... Help? Sent from my Casio G'zOne Commando 4G, it's the John Connor of Smartphones. You cannot kill it... Using Tapatalk.

    Radiator hoses

I'm swapping the radiator from my 89 2.9 Bronco 2 to one from a 94 4.0 Explorer. My question is which hoses should I buy? Ones that fit my 89? Ones for a 94? Or universals.... which I hate. Radius arm nut size

The nut at the bushing end of the radius arm, what size socket fits it? I wrote down and drove all the way to the Tractor Supply and lost the paper I wrote it on and can't remember. I know it's smaller that 1-1/4"... Any help? I'm literally standing in the store. Sent from my Casio G'zOne...

    Neutral vibration

I just swapped out my A4LD for a FM146. Got everything in a wired up, and started the motor up for the first time in a few months. With the stick in Neutral, there's a strong vibration between 1600-2000 rpm. I did the 4.0 clutch swap and I DID install the pilot bearing in the flywheel. Since...

    Slave cylinder O-ring

Does anybody know the size of the O-ring that goes on the quick connect line into the slave cylinder? One came with my new one, but it pulled a Houdini. I've got a little metric and SAE O-ring set, but none of them seem to fit right. They either won't go all the way in, or they will, but leak...

    Brake pedal

89 Eddie Bauer B2, what's the trick to get the pedal bracket out? I've pulled every bolt I can see, dropped the column, removed the gauge cluster, all the linkages. I can't remove the two bolts at the top sides, that connect to the support arms, but I disconnected them from the bottom, and I...

    Transmission wiring question

Alright guys, I'm into the wiring phase of the A4LD to FM146. The tech article doesn't exactly specify how the wiring should be done, it just references the two plugs from the A4LD, but not exactly what to do with do them. I know there's splicing that needs to be done, but I don't know exactly...

    On a scale of 1 to 10...

How bad did I just screw up? 2.9 to 4.0 clutch swap. I got everything in and realized that I drove the pilot bearing into the crank, not the flywheel like the tech article says. It's two forward, three back with this thing. Aside from having to pull everything off, go buy the tool to pull it...

    oil pan gasket "teeth"

The oil pan gasket was dried the F out, so when I pulled it, the two "teeth" that stick up into the recesses in the block, at the back, broke off. I tired drilling them out with a small bit, but I can't get all of them out. Any suggestions on how I can clear them?

    What is this?

I wrestled the oil pan off my 2.9 and I found this in the pan... What is this? Sent from my Casio G'zOne Commando 4G, it's the John Connor of Smartphones. You cannot kill it... Using Tapatalk.

    A4LD to FM146 bolt questions...

Hey guys, I posted this over in the Bronco II section, but wasn't getting any luck in finding an answer... Will any of the bolts from the A4LD bellhousing transfer over to the FM146? The thinner ones look like they'll work with about a half inch of thread into the block, and the fat ones won't...

    Bellhousing bolts...

Will any of the bolts from the A4LD bellhousing transfer over to the FM146? The thinner ones look like they'll work with about a half inch of thread into the block, and the fat ones won't. Can I just get a couple of grade 8's to match the thin ones or should they all be changed to something...
