So I found out my timing chain tensioner is making all the noise that I thought was the transmission(link). It's a loud whining sound coming from the back of the engine. basically my question is, is it possible to access the timing chain without removing the whole engine? edit: So I can atleast...

Does anyone have a pic of where the vacuum modulator is on a 4.0L rwd transmission? When the truck gets hot there's a hissing noise and it shifts really bad into second gear. Anyone know where the modulator and vacuum hoses are? All I can find are two or three metal pipes on the passenger side.

Transmissions suck because I dont understand them. I JUST freakin replaced a shift solenoid 4 months ago. The cel comes back on today reads p0756 solenoid b performance, same one I replaced -150 bucks. wtf. The whole transmission is on the way out the door I swear time for a 5spd /rant grrr...
