How do i find the previous owners of my 02 ranger fx4 off road :)

I would like to either email or call all the previous owners of my 02 ranger fx4 off road it would be nice to see or hear what they say about when they owned my ranger

inless there was paperwork left in the glove box, wont be easy to figure it out. You can get a carfax & it will tell you when it changed ownership but wont list names. I doubt your license plate place or title office will give you that information. On the hhr I had I found a name tag from a local realtor so I knew who had it, a few vehicles Ive had there was the purchase paperwork in the glove box with name/address & all. Id like to find the kid I got my ‘94 from, show him what it looks like now.

There was no paperwork left in the glovebox, I have the previous owners name (can i share there full names here ) ? I have the old license plate hanging in my garage from when i bought my ranger - would that old license plate help me ?

My previous owner had no desire to continue any conversations as soon as the paperwork was done.
At least I had full maint. records so had plenty to go on, but nothing recent

Why did your previous owner have no desire to continue talking to you ?
Have you contacted your previous owner through text to find out more info and details on your ranger since you have owned it ?
Whats the earlyiest year your maint. records go back to ?

I had no reason to believe it was personal, but did have reason to believe it could have been incriminating, as in our conversation there was some small "slip", maybe, of an overheating issue
I suppose a LOT of vehicles are disposed of during similar circumstances

No offense Gary, but I'd leave the PO alone. Unless it was some super special or rare old classic, once it's gone most previous owners don't want to know anything about it. They sold it for a reason and moved on. Likely wasn't any nefarious reason, probably just didn't fit their needs or interest anymore, but it's the past for them.

I can say for certain that if I sell a vehicle, I don't want a future owner hunting me down talking or asking about it. I've moved on. If I wanted it, I'd still have it. If I wanted another, I'd start over fresh and build from what I'd learned the first time around.

I sold it because I was done with it. I'm happy that next owner is getting good use out of it, but I want nothing to do with it anymore.

On the rare ocassion that the previous owners do want updates, they will usually know it's being bought as a project and tell you that they'd like you so show it off when you get done with it.

Maybe they sold it is because it brings back bad/sad memories, leave well enough alone, don't bother them.
