What years are interchangeable for the steering column? I got an amazing deal on a rust free 98 4x4 4.0 auto but the column is smashed from an attempted theft and it doesn’t shift now. Searched but couldn’t find the answer I needed.

I found a cheap parts truck for 400$ but have an 04 and was wondering if all of it would still fit because it looks pretty close even tho I haven’t seen them side by side.
