Thanks, it definitely does look like the knock sensor I'll get to look into it more either this weekend or next...any ideas what else could cause no crank no start? My main guess is the solenoid as it looked fairly rusty and there was no noise from it when I tried turning it over.

I'll also pull out the broken piece of the connector so we can see what the plug looks like.

My uncle's 2.9L auto bronco randomly stopped starting for him. I looked at the starter and noticed there was a cable that had broken off above the starter, on the transmission. I'll be able to get better photos this weekend when I get out there, but was wondering if anyone knew what this cable...
