on the bolt shroud or the handle? i've had two 700's and dont recall any numbers anywhere on the bolt. i'll have to take a look at my 700P when i get home.

damn, that's in real good shape. looks like a rem 700 BDL with a fixed power leupold scope. take good care of it. a good caliber too, you can kill pretty much any animal in north america with a 3006. you shouldnt have trouble finding ammo for it.

i bet the t-stat is stuck open. if the t-stat was stuck closed or the water pump wasnt pumping, you'd be overheating. t-stat is also the cheapest place to start.

well, i went ahead and decided what to do with it tonight lol. picture it with all the metal painted olive drab and a black stock thanks to mn_smokeater chopped down the mag tube about 7" and welded the cap back on. thankfully it was made out of steel. just need to cut down the spring next...

i already have a mossberg 500 for HD. there's a pic of it in this thread somewhere. i think i might fix this one up and sell it. i was thinking of doing a HD build. put a shorter barrel on it and get a shorter mag extension and of course new furniture. thanks toph, sending him a PM now
