I would double-check the wiring at the stereo to make sure something isn't crossed. Although, I don't know how something could get crossed and have the brake light or cruise control turn the radio on unless one of the "unused" pins connects those circuits, which is unlikely.
I've read about...
As far back as there have been digital displays in car stereos there have been at least four wires in use. There should be an accessory wire in addition to the three you mentioned. The standard color is red. This wire is connected to the ignition key and the ACC (accessory) circuit that...
i witnessed a very overweight woman run into her son with a mobility scooter in Walmart because she didn't know how to engage the brakes. She also ran over several boxes of cereal that fell in her path.
Have you ever noticed that the people riding those things through Walmart don't have...
FLAC is lossless. If you listen to an MP3 with low bitrate you can notice the audio is missing clarity and dynamic range. If you go to a higher bitrate much of that goes away. You don't hear any of that with FLAC and the stereo separation appears to be better with FLAC. A 320kbps MP3 is...
Ripped about six CDs to FLAC so and put them on a nano USB drive so I have something to listen to while driving around in the Ranger other than hip-hop, Mexican polka music, and rants about culture war nonsense. Now I want to drive around so I can listen to music.
It started out kind of mild at 6:00 AM when it was 57F. Three hours later and it is now 46F. It is chilly, rainy and the high temperature for the day looks like it happened at 6:00 AM today. But, the weather looks like it is going to be nice next week.
It was 34% coverage over here. I went out to view it on my lunch hour. I let my coworkers know about it. Several of them didn't know what an eclipse was. The rest weren't interested. Someone else wandered out and said he saw one in a video game.
At any rate, I had my eclipse-safe viewing...
I told myself I was going to do some stuff when I got home from work. So, I got home, fed the cats, put a burrito in the microwave, and that's about it.
It can absorb moisture due to the additives. I was taught that this moisture accelerates the breakdown of the additives in the oil. However, that was in the 80s when the additives were mostly detergents.
It's not "only" 5 years. It's a recommendation. If it's unopened and stored in the proper environment it will have a longer shelf life. Fully synthetic has a longer shelf life than conventional or synthetic blends. I used 8 year old synthetic blend without a problem. I opened it, the oil...
Well, here's the problem with retailers. You know the business that are complaining about people buying stuff online instead of in local stores? They have one register open only to meet ADA compliance laws, and a handful of self-checkout lanes full of people who don't know how to scan the...
I was going to install new door speakers in the Ranger, but a bit of convergence parked over my part of town which resulted in rain and temperatures in the upper 40s while 10 miles to the east and west they only got a few showers and it was in the upper 50s. So, I decided to go do some shopping...
You can buy Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood single DIN stereos that will side right in place of that one. I recently bought an Alpine for $119. I suggest buying one that will play media from USB and that it has the ability to play FLAC files. That will run about $120. There are cheaper...
The issue is this kit mounts the radio in the middle of the kit instead of the top or bottom. I'm going to order another kit that will allow me to install the radio either way as soon as I figure out what speakers I want to buy.
I'm aware of that. This is for a single DIN. This kit appears to be for vehicles wherein the stereo is supported by a rail above the stereo. The support rail on mine is below the stereo.
