Man, how do you stay warm camping in the snow??
I dont really. I dont do it very often once a year maybe. Lots of layers and blankets help.

snow is actually a good insulator. It's that cold, biting wind that you have to watch out for.

That strong box looks good. Wish I had one.
Very true. Wind makes it unpleasant.

Thanks. I'm excited to see how well it holds up.

The Core 44 just came in. Getting excited now! Still have a bunch of parts to order and make but Im one step closer.

Also decided im finally doing the manual trans swap while I SAS. The auto trans is starting to slip on hill climbs which kind of defeats the purpose of the doubler.

One day I may go this far, when the truck is no longer my DD. (Still running pre key and a TT, with 265/70R16 lol) You are doing an excellent job of doing things the right way, and that truck should last you forever. Just watch out for rust.

Ya rust is the only thing I worry about. I can fix anything else but I hate body work so I usually dont bother with it. My plan is to paint the entire frame as I do the swap though.

I guess I missed some of this upgrade madness you got going on Mr Bossley... Holy Smokes!

For what you got going... a good move to the manual transmission. You gonna do a twin stick t case too?

Ya the auto just isnt cutting it anymore. No plans for twin stick though. I just have the one stick for the doubler then kept the electric shift for the stock T case. It works well as is and theres not a lot of room on the floor. I didnt want to hack up the interior too much.

Im starting the trans swap next weekend then once thats done moving on to the front diff hopefully early July.

Manual trans swap is done! Well as far as I can go with it anyways. 6 days start to finish. Truck runs and drives as a manual. Just have to bring it to ford with another pcm to reprogram it. Currently has a rev limiter at 3000 rpm and the speedometer is all out of whack. Says im going waaay faster than i am, and because of that i hit the speed limiter at around 80 km/hr. Truck thinks im doing 155 lol. Its also throwing over twenty codes which was expected. Fords programming will fix all of that though. Anyways heres some pics

So the PCM is all programmed and truck is working great. You'd never know it was an automatic before. I took it up some easy trails to test things out. So far so good. the doubler works amazing. So must torque I almost couldn't stall it if I tried.

Now its on to the SAS. Got it started yesterday. Just pulled out all the IFS stuff. Now i'm just getting the Superlift prepped for sale. Next up will be cutting out crossmemebers and other frame brackets.

WOW! What an adventure!
Why did you go back to torsion bar?

Going back to torsion bars was temporary. I knew I needed to do a solid axle swap so I started selling parts to save up. The coilovers went first. Besides they never really gave me the ride quality I was looking for. I think they are over rated. My truck drove just as good on torsion bars with the superlift and skyjacker leaf springs.
