Good evening to the Group. I have continued to get birthday wished from TRS over the last decade and I have finally returned to site with a Blue Oval product. Since new, I have liked my uncle's 1997 Mountaineer, and was gifted the vehicle last July. I have going through the neglect and problems from sitting at their mountain home since 2008, driven only 104 miles in that interim. True to the nature of a decade off the road, I've been left stranded a couple times, left a tire tread in the parking lot of a tire store, and other things. However, I'm digging the 302, air conditioning, power leather seats and windows. My previous commuter was an 87 Ramcharger with 360 and a lift, so the 15-18 mpg over the last 11 months with the Mountaineer is refreshing.

I will be updating the rims and adding a rumbly muffler while I figure out some of the proper corrections to transfer case problems, perhaps adding a small lift via F150 springs in rear and torsion bar adjustment in front...maybe a small gain in tire size, too.

Cheers,
Russell

At the time, I was looking for a replacement to my Dodge Raider...was contemplating a 2006 FX4 Level II with a service body, lift, and 33" tires. Summarily laid off in the real estate crash, that plan was drastically changed...

Thanks for the welcome back. :)
