I've made a handful of posts so far, but have yet to introduce myself so here it is.
Brief description: A 1986 XLT 4x4 Ranger longbed, with a 6 inch suspension lift and 29 inch tires. All original interior that I believe has 200,000 miles on it. The engine is a 2.9 v6 with 158,000? on it.
A combination of a $400 1986 XL 4x4 (Everything except body and interior) and a $550 1987 XLT 2WD (Body/interior)
I found the '86 in central IL and it was a flinstone truck due to the rust, the '87 was found in southern IL and was in great shape for a rust belt truck although the paint was meh and you can tell some rust spots were already fixed. I included a pic of the driver's side floor pan to show how clean it is, amazing for a rust-belt truck.
What's been done: (that I remember lol)
Reinstalled gas tank and ran new fuel lines
Replaced front rotors and pads, fixed rear drums (1 spring missing)
Swapped body and cab mounts
Valve cover gasket replace
New exhaust and muffler
Removed 3-inch body lift
Swapped bumpers
Rebuilt alternator
Fixed wiring
(Dana 35s, 8.8 rear end, roll bar, and 6-inch suspension lift by previous owner)
To do:
Actually have wheels that match
Somehow install the sunroof from other truck
Mildly restomod the interior
(all I can think of for now)
I will keep this thread updated as I build or if I remember something suddenly
