I'm looking at buying a 1987 Mazda 4x4 truck. It was a real quick look-over and I didn't get many details because it wasn't the truck I actually went to look at. From my poor memory;
It's 1987
4 cylinder
4x4
6 stud wheels
sla front suspension
I thought mazda and ford had the same basic drivetrains but this seems to disprove that re; no ttb and 6 stud wheels. I seem to remember that it may be only certain years are the same. So will any of this mazdas stuff interchange with my ford rangers?

No, that year would be more akin to Ford Courier, an import from Japan
1987 would be a B-2200 2.2l engine, not a Lima engine

1994 was when Mazda B-series matched Ford Rangers
For 1994, the third-generation Mazda B-Series was introduced. While the company continued to manufacture its own trucks in Japan and internationally, the North American version of the B-Series was now a badge-engineered version of the Ranger. The new B3000 and B4000 boasted Ford V6 engines, and the M5OD-R1 manual transmission returning to the options sheet. Extended cab models were available, as was four-wheel drive.

Thanks, Ron.
I ended up buying it for $500.00. Brand new 235/75r15 M+S rubber. It's a b-2600, so a 2.6 liter. Runs decent, good body, matching topper, needs front brake work.
