Still haven't figured this one out. Truck ran fine then it just quit. Pushed it home; there wasn't any fire. Let it set a few weeks; it started right up. Drove it about a month; same thing; started later that day. Replaced the entire distributor with all the parts, the coil, and the plug wires. Now it cuts out and super bad under acceleration. Put test lights on it. When it cuts out the power to the coil stays constant, the coil loses output and the tach wire loses power. Can not find any bad wiring other than the resistor being bad in the tach wire. I don't have much hair left to lose; been pulling it out regularly on this deal.

My credo
Give 'yer balls a tug. Fight me.
@RonD or @adsm08 should be around at some point to correct me on this, but I'm guessing TFI module is on its last legs.

Yes, the Hall effect sensor inside distributor tells the TFI module when to Ground and unGround the Coil, this grounding and ungrounding is what causes coil to spark and is also the Tach signal

So could be a bad wire, Hall effect sensor or TFI module

"New" just means NEVER TESTED now-a-days, not "it works", so grain of salt on "new" parts

Replaced the module last night and let it run for 10 minutes or so and it did not cut out! So far so good. Will go for a test drive tonight. Thanks!!
