Not being able to sense demeanor will always be a problem with electronic communications.

I personally don't think Bird is trying to steer you wrong here. When i did my 302 swap... I went with a pusher... I had some issues with keeping it cool. I ended up switching to a puller and never looked back. I think it has everything to do with restricting air flow with the pusher in front of the radiator.

One thing I have been meaning to do is to put the tape measure on the dual fan shroud assembly that is in our 11 Edge. I've had it out a couple times to replace the never ending saga to get a reman alternator that actually works. It would be a tidy package with the controller mounted to the shroud if it would fit. My daughter now owns it and she is always on the go so when I think about it it is never here.

Has anyone looked at it as an option for an e-fan for the Ranger?

Puller fan is in all I did was set it in a half inch under the water pump pulley. It might need be to moved down another half inch, Unless I jump the truck It shouldn't touch, forgot to take a picture of it yesterday. Put my new sensors in for the 90 mustang harness. Not using the throttle body from the exploder anymore my friend gave me a 70mm eldebrock/bbk throttle body from a mustang. Put the 98 exploder Cast exhaust manifolds on until I can get a local guy to make me headers the same shape. He wants like $600 for all stainless, so that's a down the road purchase. Also replaced the vehicle speed sensor since the housing was broken on the old one and the clip wouldn't stay in.

Transmission is full of fluid, rad hoses are a pain, I found a v8 chevy hose for the bottom just needs cut in half. To hose I got a 90 mustang hose but I highly doubt it would work. I need a hose that will come out at a 90 from the rad then turn back toward the thermostat housing then 90 down. That exploder alternator is in the way.

90 mustang hose works good, I didn't get to cut the chevy hose down today, had to murder a snake that took residence in my garage, then had some other stuff to do, But it looks like it will fit, serpentine belt and a/c delete pully is on, was able to bend the existing high pressure hose to fit without breaking it for the power steering but it has some slop in the hose, tried putting an oring in but that didn't really help. Need to get a return line either made or fit one short enough.

if you snatched the engine out of a 98 its got edis on it. I would HIGHLY recommend staying with edis over going with a distributor. The eec-v computers are significantly better than the older eec-iv's.

Spent the whole day taking it back apart apparently felpro gaskets are junk. Timing cover was leaking, so now I used the Right stuff from Permatex hopefully she doesn't have to come back apart..... also got the ranger computer harness out and the mustang harness in. Just got to merge it now, fuel line, and exhaust, let that stuff cure and fill with antifreeze and clutch stuff

...and speedo, and gauges, and reverse lights, and ten other things that are easily forgotten. lol

I'll be curious to see how you got your factory "charging" gauge wired in. That's the one gauge I haven't been able to figure out yet on my 87 swap truck.

Im using a 90 f150 5spd so its gear driven. The speedo works but its off though we pulled the ranger to his house with his Cummins and a chain. so he can work on the wiring for me here and there. He is the mustang expert and he talked me into the fuel injection and some other things also he owns (business) garage. And for the speedo I need a different color gear its 10-15mph faster than it we were going.

Oh ok. You'll probably be using the same setup as my truck runs. A VSS sensor in the transmission that drives the speedometer cable AND sends a signal to the ECU.
