Hi, I recently rebuilt my 1996 4R55E.
I lost reverse first.
The issue when the transmission started failing was 2-3 flare and then loss of drive completely (blowing smoke).
I removed the transmission, discovered that the valve body gasket was blown.
I also found that the forward clutch assembly was completely toasted.
I replaced all of the gaskets, o-rings, clutches, and frictions.
Here we are now, with only reverse.
I am stumped, I made sure that the valve body was torqued to specs, it aligned perfect with no issues, but still nothing. The shift linkage is in the proper position.
Any ideas?
