Has anyone ever tried to wired around a gem module to make a 4x4 transfer motor to shift in and out of 4-wheel drive?

on YouTube there are more than a few people that have rigged up diy electrics but they all come back to the same problem, not having the electronics makes it difficult to not burn out the motor.

IMO it's either go with a manual setup like the shiftster, or stay with the Ford gem module set up. The checkout and testing procedures are posted on the how to section of the site here.
