Hey,
So I have a 2001 XLT 3.0 V6 Automatic. about 160k miles on it. Full fuel and POLs. Battery is old ish (2.5 years). I was just driving on the regular and It just shut off while I was in a turn lane. My buddies in the truck helped push it into a dirt lot. It's currently sitting there now a half mile away from home ( I can't have it towed because I'm on a USMC base and you can't get tow trucks on there.) I tried replacing the spark plugs and ignition coil, nothing. Tried jumping it with a bigger battery and nothing. I've done some other research and based on the mileage and symptoms, it sounds like it might be the timing chain. Are there any other reasons why my truck wouldn't start? Maybe a bad sensor I should look at?
