Hi there, I have a beautiful 2008 red 2wd 2 seater ranger (small cab) with 68k automatic and runs great. Unfortunately the rear frame is rusted badly. I think changing the rear frame would be a little more than I could take on, but I saw these rear frame repair sets I think I could put on. However, they the kit fits up until year 2006 and I have a 2008 ranger. In several threads I have read the frames didn't change much so I was wondering if this kit might fit or if it could be modified to fit on a 2008. I guess another way of asking the question - is a 2008 rear frame different than one generation earlier? Thanks for the help. Here is a link below to a product, it looks like there are other similar products.

They say it won't fit. Don't know if you can make it fit? Instead of paying $95 for two pieces of metal that may not fit, why not go to the junkyard and find a truck with no bed on it and a good frame, and cut the back off of it that you need.

Then take your junkyard frame pieces, and cut the top lip off. In other words, cut the top off the "C". Then the new "L" piece will slip right in to your frame to double it up and strengthen it. I did this on a f150 and it worked well. I didn't even have to weld it. By the time I drilled and chiseled off all the rivets on the original frame(you will have to do this with the $95 pieces) that held the leaf spring bracket, the crossmember, and the trailer hitch and the bumper, and used bolts to bolt it all back together, I had enough bolts to hold the new piece in place.

Once you sit the "L" repair piece in place, use a c-clamp to clamp it in place and then drill the holes out for the bolts. The thickness of the frame throws the holes a little bit off on the new "L" piece when you sit it inside the old frame.

If you paint everything up and install this piece from the yard, when you are done you have to really look to see that you did anything.

With a grinder and a welder. Anything is possible.
If you have the skills to install one of these, you have the skills to splice a frame or make your own patch panels.
It’s all cutting, grinding, and welding.
