Does anyone have relavent insight into this off the wall.
What will newer 2011 2.3 bolt to as far as transmission. Is it still the old 2.3/302 bolt pattern for m5odr1 or c4. I've come by a totalled ranger at a steal. Prolly not worth it but I'd love to drop in my gen2 ranger with tired motor. I just don't like the a4ld or whatever they put in them now. Also dont know what they got rigged up for the speed sensor in the newer ones tranny or axle. More than likely I'll hear the newer integrated electronics isolates any options. But I like the idea.

I don't know what pattern the new 2.3 has but I do know that the old 2.3 bolt pattern is unique to the lima engines. (2.0, 2.3, 2.5). The 302 uses the small block Ford pattern.

The Duratec 2.3 is it's own pattern.

To make matters worse it is used in the Ranger and the Mustang (2015+) as a RWD engine. Everything else it was in was FWD, so RWD transmissions are less than abundant.
