I have a 2011 Ford Ranger and I disabled the Open-door chime noise which is located behind the instrument cluster. After I removed the piece that made the noise, I put everything back the way it came out but now my speedometer doesn't work at all, and my tachometer will work for a little while then eventually quit altogether. What would I need to do in order to get them working again or is it something I won't be able to do at home and need to take it to a dealership or mechanic's shop?

How did you remove the noise maker? Things are not as simple as they seem sometimes.

2004 to 2011 Rangers use the HEC Digital cluster
Speedo/odo, Temp gauge and Tach get digital signal from computer

Is temp gauge working?

Could just be you didn't plug in one of the connectors on the cluster in all the way, there are 2 long connectors, the 2 data wires are at the end of one of them

There are also 3 fuses, 9, 10 and 33 in cab fuse box, check them

Well I did remove this circle object from the switch board that made the door chime sound but I was extremely careful to not interrupt anything else.
the temp gauge does still work thank god and i will have to check those out, I completely forgot to look at the fuse box but I did disconnect the battery before I did any of that . I will definitely double check if the two connectors in the back are in the whole way because that could very well be it too. I appreciate the info!!

2008 is the latest Cluster diagram I have
But 2011 should be the same

Chime is shown in lower left, and thats about as good a schmatic as Ford does for this part, lol, i.e. "HEC is Not a serviceable part"
Outside of SOME of the light bulbs being changeable the HECs aren't like the old analog clusters where you could swap out parts
