How do the diesel rangers handle the freeway? I've heard they need pretty high RPM's to do 60-80 mph. Is there much difference with the Turbo?

Considering how terribly under powered they were... I'd be shocked if they could actually do 80mph.

Anything will do 80mph with the rigjt gearing and turbo size.

Still want this diesel. You should send it to me.

Heres 0-60 on a 2.2L perkins..you *might* coax 65-70 out of it but its going to take you 10 miles...

.

Heres a 2.3L turbo 0-60...
.

Bout on par with a gas 2.3.

Isn’t the 2.3 Turbo a 5 speed? Looked like it was just shifted into 4th at 60mph there.

My '86 turns about 2800ish at 70mph. 75mph is just over 3000rpm IIRC. It can maintain highway speeds well, but merging is pretty slow even with the pedal floored. Stock settings on injection pump. It has a 3.45 rear and 205/70/14 tires. I'm curious as to how much boost it's making at highway speeds(cruising) but haven't put a gauge on it to find out yet. One thing though...wind does affect it greatly.

Also had an '84 with the 2.2 years back. I stayed away from the freeway. :stop:

Depends on how close to ground zero it is.
Have film. On flat ground, on 31s, 3.73s are effectively reduced to 3.33s

Propelling a sail with a cap with no front window (took it off to haul the four liter. HOLY CRAP SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT)

So. Yes. My haggard old half pint per 1000mi of blowby in the catch can 2.9 certainly can.
