So I have a 2002 ranger that needs a larger floor patch that I want to make. I'm completely shocked to find that nobody sells a floorpan for this year of truck.

There are pans for 1983-1992 but nothing after. Has anybody tried the older pan in the newer truck? Or have a source for a proper year pan?

I don't know of a source for a new floor pan for yours, but I do know that the earlier pan will not be the same. Ford/Mazda changed the cabs beginning in 1993. Now retired, but over 25 years doing collision repair and owning 4 rangers, I feel qualified to give you this info.

Well I couldn't find the info anywhere. So I'm going to ad it here.

I did buy a first gen pan figuring even if it was different it would be a good start and I could modify it. Well, It was more than just a good start, it's a direct fit. I have to do some other metal work but this gets me most of the way there now. Very happy and wanted to ad this answer for others, since I found many forum posts with this question but nobody decided to try and report back using an older gen pan.

( it's just sitting on top of the old floor in this photo)
