Hi,
I recently bought my first “project” Ranger. It’s a 1997 4x2 manual with a 4.0L engine. I’ve been giving it a tune up: new spark plugs, wires, ignition coil, air filter, fuel filter, oil change, fixed/replaced the hood latch cable, and tightened up the throttle cable, new fuel neck filler hose and fuel pump (to be installed soon). My goal eventually is to build it up to a entry level, street legal prerunner.
I’m thinking to upgrade the suspension to an Autofab econolift, 33” tires (currently it has 16”x9” American racing steel rims). Flared fenders, new manual trans stick assembly (this one is sooo worn & loose) and engine upgrades as I go (not sure yet).
I don’t need anything crazy or super high end. I just want to build it myself and learn.
