My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Looking great!

I still have to figure out what Im doing with the front axle. I will either put chromly shafts and locker in this axle or Ill cut down my full width d44 and RCV shafts to fit. And I havent wired my dash or anything in the interior yet.

Looks like I have a week off work next week so I plan to wrap up all my interior stuff like the dash ,sound system, lighting and cage.

I got my rear bumper drilled for the spindle so now I can build my tire carrier. I also picked up a new X20 Smitybilt 10k lb winch and a 10lb Powertank setup

Next Thursday is our club Glass City Crawlers monthly meeting in Toledo so I plan to bring Gilligan out for it debut

I like the height this thing sits at for a daily. I see where you said you used Duff coils and Skyjacker leafs, do you happen to know part numbers?

I dont remember the part number for the rears since I bought them years ago. They are listed as 2-4" ranger leafs tho. The fronts are the 3.5" early bronco coils Duff sells

Couple new updates.

I built a swing out tire carrier on the James Duff rear bumper and it turned out awesome. I bought the parts from EMS OffRoad and have less than $200 in all the parts and materials.

Drilled a hole thru both tubes of the bumper then welded the spindle in good.

Here is a vid of the build.

And finished.

I also finally got around to gutting the doors and swapped in the full size glass and manual regulators. Put all new dew wipes and felts in too. Turned out great!

was only home for a minute......managed to tow our blowed up sedona home from houghton lake and see my mil who is having some serious health issues..

and had to go right back.....missed out on the silver bass run too:annoyed:

i love this thing...so sooner or later damn it:D

may want to consider plating/gusset the bumper now, though with low use and where the frame bracket is it may never sag.

i bent up my duff radius arms and had to repair them quite a bit when i had ttb....so....of course that was a looong time ago..

Bumper SEEMS pretty solid as its now but I guess time will tell. When its closed the weight of the tire is right over the frame mount and driving down the road even big bumps in the road hardly even make the spare shake. Feeling pretty good about it so far.

I had the same Duff TTB arms on my last B2 and I also banged those up a good bit but these EB radius arms are a different animal. If I bend these .250 wall DOM 2" arms I really had a bad day!

So I took the factory window switch plate thingy and changed it up to hold just one mustang door lock switch. Turned out great! Cant believe the difference the new door panels made for the interior.

Coming from the original cat hair and piss covered panels to the new stuff is amazing.

Short update....

I been driving the truck all over and loving it. Been working out all the bugs. Still havent taken it off roading yet but Im close!

I was getting some surging and stalling in gear when it was up to temp and I found the motor was running a little lean since I added the better flowing Explorer intakes and 65mm throttle body. The speed density ecm just cant compensate for the added air flow so I put on a Aeromotive adjustable fuel regulator and bumped pressure up 4psi and that made all the difference. Truck runs like a brand new truck now, zero issues. And to my delight even on these 90-100 degree days I havent seen the motor temps go higher than 190.

I was getting a lot of noise from the rear axle and it was chattering real bad in turns. Wasnt expecting that out of a Detroit Locker. Well turns out something was broken inside the diff so I just swapped it out for a full DTS spool I had and now the truck drives smooth and quiet! Can hardly even tell it has a spool except in my driveway when making super tight turns.

I did some cutting on the fenders and took it back to our clubs RTI ramp to check clearance and she all good now. I am super happy with the flex this thing has!

I also finished the front bumper and Im real happy with it.

So I got a bunch of other details knocked out too. The stereo system is all done and sounds great! Love cruising around with the tunes kicking! Got my speedo back from Speedhut and works perfectly. All my lights are hooked up now. I put a rubber mat in rear and mounted a fire extinguisher to tire carrier so anyone can get to it fast.

I have about two weeks left to get all the other bugs worked out and then its off to Silver Lake Dunes for Bronco Takeover!
