Hey so I'm new to this forum. So the other day my starter mount broke so I couldn't get my truck started. After o replaced the starter I tried starting the truck. It cranks hard but doesn't want to start. Why would this happen?

Check if you have 12volts at the coil's "+" terminal with key on, and above 9volts at that terminal when cranking engine.

Add some gas, starting fluid or brake cleaner to the intake and try starting, if it starts and dies, then you have spark but no fuel, check the Fuel pump fuse.

Given the wiring involved I find it more likely that there was an unrelated, coincidental failure of the TFI, but yes, Ron is right, you should check power to the coil since checking is free and the cheapest TFI I've seen in recent years was $50.
