Hey guys I have a 90 2.3Lima auto ranger and I about to purchase a 90 2.3Lima manual to swap engine into mines while I'm building my turbo 2.3. My question is is there anything different on 2.3manual engine as opposed to the auto version? Idk if the housings bolts are different designs on how the hookup to block.

1989 to 1994 2.3l Lima will be the same, manual or automatic, 1988 and earlier and 1995-1997 don't have correct crank sensor type and location

The separator plate between engine and bellhousing is different and the starter motor is as well I believe with manuals and automatics
Automatic plate usually has AUTO stamped on it

flexplate(automatic) also has a spacer on the crankshaft usually that needs to be remove to install flywheel for manual use

Thanks Ron! Hopefully truck is still available this Friday I'm going to rent a new ranger to tow a ranger lmao and see how it does. I'm going to use this truck mostly for parts I cant really find anymore and some interior bits.

an auto engine in '90 doesn't have EGR where a manual will have it... and in mid '90 they switched from using a MAP sensor to using a MAF sensor so the airbox and harness is different...

Don't think you have to do more than that to change the input shaft seal.
