My truck has developed some pretty loud lifter ticks over the last couple of years and would like to get them replaced. Does anybody have a recommendation for where look for them and which brand for new lifters?
Believe it or not at one point the truck was so quit I actually damaged the ring gear on the fly wheel and went through multiple starters because I kept trying to turn her back on thinking the engine stalled or turned off.

It is more than likely your pushrods and rockers are all galled to hell. I would pull the valve covers and then the rocker shafts and inspect them before replacing the lifters. OEM lifters are the only way to go and they are not sold anymore I don't think. The only aftermarket ones I'd consider are sealed power and those are like $50 a piece.
