My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
If you can clip the wires to his....

My credo
I'm not afraid of dying, not living terrifies me!
We live in a strange world... he may be into that kinda thing.
As my dad used to say, "No matter how weird, vile or disgusting someone out there is into it"!

Ok, so on a more-serious note, here's a crude, yet effective circuit for this that should be simple to implement:

Parts needed:
Small 2" or 3" 8Ω speaker (cheap transistor-radio type speaker)
10µF 16V capacitor (aluminum electrolytic type)
20Ω 5W resistor (optional, to improve the sound, if needed)

Connect as shown in the diagram.
You should hear a distinct "Tick-Tock" sound from the speaker when the flashers are operating.
Addition of a 20 or so ohm resistor across the light circuit MAY improve this sound somewhat, however this will be dependent on variables such as the specific LED bulbs you're using. If there are any incandescent bulbs or other load resistors already present on the circuit, adding the resistor will probably have little or no effect.
