home brewing alternative fuel will never be practical except for a tiny group of people who have loads of free time and access to the necissary materials so cheap as to be effectively "free".
It's like the discussion of making bio-diesel from used fry oil, when in reality
it would take TWO McDonalds or chinese resturants for each F350 on the road....
ethanol is far worse because of the bureaucratic hoops you'll have to jump through so that the government is sure that they aren't losing any of their precious tax revenue...
You CANNOT make alcohol fuel at home. it must be in a secure commercial setting and you WILL be subject to (repeated) inspections.
Filling out the form is only the beginning of the battle and only one person out of 100
who starts the process manages to carry through to actually start making fuel
all the rest eventually say "Screw it" because the government just makes it too difficult to do legally to be practical.
