Some background;

I’m working around bad knees, arthritis in my left big toe, the left hip, lower back, shoulders and hands, as well as bursitis in the shoulders. I’m 57. I swam competively from when I was 7 until 18. I had a bad car accident when I was 16 and blew out my left knee, fractured hip, damaged internal organs. I came thru after being given a 30% chance for recovery. I’m sure that the swimming was a major factor in my recovery. Since then I’ve worked in the construction trade. About 15 years ago my knees started giving me grief. I’m sure my heavy drinking didn’t help the knees any. The doc told me to stop doing the type of work that I do, tried lots of different jobs, none of which suit me. Got depressed and sat on the couch and drank more. My wife at the time told me quit drinking or leave. I quit drinking. Over the last 6 years or so I’ve started physiotherapy and that has helped me on my road to better health. Quiting drinking was a major benefit to my mental health too, its amazing the bullshit I told myself to justify my drinking.
Anyway, its been a long road and I’m working towards an all around better me which includes cardio and stretching and eventually some weight training.
Thanks to all who post, it gives me something to emulate.
More to come, albeit probably sporadically.

My credo
Give 'yer balls a tug. Fight me.
Don't laugh.

Yoga.

And not the hot kind. Hot yoga sucks.

Lots of eye candy, and has been proven to extend lifespan and fix arthritis.

20 mins a day does wonders.

Yoga is what my stretching exercises are based on. I do about 15 to 25 minutes of stretching most mornings. I agree, it works.
