Does adding the Belltech 6400 shackles effect pinion angle much? Effect ride any?

I am thinking about losing the 4wd blocks, going to Explorer springs and using the Belltechs to adjust the ride height back to where it sits now.

It does change the angle somewhat (slightly raising up the pinion), though it doesn't seem to present an issue. I have extended shackles on my Ranger with Skyjacker 4" leafs (also a buddy has 6400s on his '93 SC w/one-piece driveshaft). No problems with vibration on either one.

I can see issues being more likely on a vehicle having a dual-cardan driveshaft.

Ever tried deleting the blocks with just Explorer springs?

I am picturing it in my head I am going to come out about level but close enough it could go either way...

I have not tried it without blocks myself, though I wouldn't think it would change things much (the block has a slight taper itself, which is likely matched to it's height).

If worse gets to worse, you can always use angled shims that go in between the leaf spring and axle perch to correct any pinion angle discrepancy. Just make sure to use steel ones (ideal) or FORGED aluminum ones (cast aluminum ones are well-known to break and disintegrate).

They come in various degree amounts (2.5° 4°, etc.).

Yeah, the blocks are making up for their thickness.

Sorry, I shifted gears to ride height...

Good to know about the cast aluminum shims falling apart though.
