My current cab is probably better than most, yes. I justify it by knowing that this little Ranger would have been scrapped otherwise, so I am at least saving some of it from becoming a Chevy Traverse or kitchen knives or something.

I am excited about the truck bed trailer and will be doing that sooner than later. It's going to have matching wheels and 31" tires. It'll be nice to be able load it up with yard waste and such and take it to the landfill, rather than using my Ranger's bed which is obnoxiously high off the ground because I lifted it.

Put your old cab on the other frame and have a mini me for a work truck.

A good idea and one I've thought of, but this is the current state of the mini me

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Looks like Ford stuttered.

Nice job.

Nice job.
Thanks champ.

I ordered new tires for the trailer and am going to polish the wheels up. I also need to add safety chains and wire it up. It'll be nice to have to haul stuff to the recycler and I can throw my shell on it and go camping.

Color me jealous! I've been wanting to do this for years. Especially with my 1st gen V8 truck. But the trailer for that would almost have to be lowered.

Yeah the trailer sits surprisingly high. That trailer is at stock 2wd height with 235/75/15 tires and I have a drop hitch on my truck.

If you were to build one for a lowered truck you'd probably need to angle the tongue down quite a bit. I welded the tongue in as low as I could while also keeping it level with the bed.

That looks really good... nice job BlackBII.

I've been wanting to do this very thing myself... and will some day... when all the planets align.

Got some cheapo tires, polished the wheels and added paint, chains, wiring and a legit handle that makes picking up the tongue super easy. I need to add a trailer jack but haven't decided on which one to buy.

I also installed new KYB shocks. This little trailer is really well behaved on the road. I think the shocks help a bunch. It's doesn't really bounce around at all.

I need to find a nice little aluminum box to put in front of the bed to store tie downs, lug wrench, etc.

Not doing much on the Ranger as I am just starting a manual 5 speed swap on my '87 W124 Mercedes, but I did get an oem Ford transmission mount to replace the polyurethane one I have; I must be getting old because I'm annoyed by the drivetrain vibration it transmits. Also painted my tire letters and added a thermoswitch for my electric fan. My custom hub nuts are also holding up great and haven't loosened up at all.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
great work on the trailer.....put a b2 gas tank in it and you will have plenty of fuel camping remotely....

i regretted the hub nut trick....i did it because my nipple busted off and i didnt have another one...

but i only used the inner nut tapped and left the outer off.
