I'd like to get the newest E-Revo but it would end up just like my last one. After the normal upgrades I can't stop doing, I'd have $1500 in it and once I started getting bored with it or more comfortable, I's start pushing it's limits, which costs a lot of money in the end.

These things are getting too fast for their own good.

That Carisma one is pretty slick.

Last weekend I finally got my son caught up on his allowance since June, and he had enough to go buy himself a nice RC car. He settled on a 4x2 Traxxas Rustler. Its the entry level one with the slow motor, but it still needs a wheelie bar.

I picked up a Losi crawler back in 2013... for my daughter.

The crawlers and scale stuff gets boring fast to me.
That is precisely why I took a very quick liking to the Traxxas Summit. It does all the crawling stuff I desire, but then when boredom kicks in, I just shift the thing to High gear and blast off into the distance (dust clouds flying & everything).
I've had it 10 years now and still haven't gotten bored with it... I put on sand tires and took it to Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area) the day after a windstorm (so all the dunes were nice & smooth). What a freakin' blast on 6s LiPo power!! (it's got a Castle Mamba Monster ESC & motor like the original brushless E-Revo had).

More recently I bought the TRX-4 Ford Bronco. This is a VERY sharply-detailed and capable little crawler rig. I made my own light setup for it (with reverse lights that work) since there wasn't anything available at the time I got it. I think it came out pretty nice. Like the Summit, it has selectable lockers and a two-speed trans, though it's top speed is maybe barely faster than jogging pace.
Indeed there have been times I wanted this thing to go 50× faster, but of course it's not built for that (that is what the Summit is for). The detail & realism is what makes this one fun.

I've been seriously looking at the TRX Bronco, the only thing stopping me is the low top speed. I know I'll eventually just break down and buy it.

The amount of money that little crawler cost me is astronomical... but well worth it.

I recently got a killer deal on a Traxxas slash 4x4 from Monster energy. I think it was like 400 tabs and $50. It's fast as hell and fun. Does wheelies on carpet and donuts in the gravel. The rock crawler rc's are fun but they are slow. Slow gets boring quick. My traxxas is fast and can still do all the rock crawling. Might not be as good as a slow crawler but it wasn't hundreds of dollars either. Wish I would have got 2-3 of them and sold them for profit.

I just found my old traxxas nitro buggy in my shed. It hasn't run in 25+ years but now I kinda wanna see If I can fix it lol. It's in pretty bad shape... what do these things cost new these days? Price was nuts when I got it as a kid. 400 as a parts kit and had to buy a body, paint, and controller separate.

I think a crawler would be a lot of fun. The problem is a budget conflict with my 1:1.
