94 Ranger XLT, stock brakes. Yesterday my brake light on the dash came on, but very dim, and stayed on. I'm hoping you guys here have seen this issue before and know the most common causes of the very dim light? I do know a bad ground will cause this so tomorrow, when it is not raining, I will be going over the grounds to check them but am not sure what else can cause this if all the grounds are good?

Brake lines are good and hold pressure, Master cylinder is full, ABS pump on the frame is bad but brakes work fine with it hooked up, Parking brake causes the light to come on full but when release it is still on dim,

Oh, does anyone know where all, or some, of the grounds on the 94 "2WD", if it makes a difference, are located? It would make the checking much quicker knowing where to look to start with. I know there is one from the engine to either the fire wall or the frame but beyond that I have no clue where the others would be located.

I would start by unplugging the parking brake switch and fluid level switch first and see if either of those make it go away,

Well I go out and turn the key on today and the light is out. :dunno: It was on yesterday when I drove it but as usual it is dry and nice outside and it wont do it... OK will report back if it turns on dim again. Thanks for the tips adsm08.

If its doing it when wet youre pry getting moisture in one of the sensor plugs or ya got a shitty ground. My 77 does this from time to time as well.

I thought the same when it wasn't on when it was dry out, although it has rained since and has not come on albeit no where near the amount as when it came on. I guess I will have to wait and see if it comes on and get wet finding the cause. Are there other Body Grounds ( ground straps from body to frame) Other than from the motor to the cab? I would think there would be one for the bed but not sure where it would be located. (EDIT: ) or is the ground for the bed done by the bolts and bed ribs touching the frame?
