Oh come on Ron, that hasn't been true in half a century. Nascar, NHRA, etc all had cars that ran faster in days past than they do now because the regulations and nonsense keeps limiting cars more and more. The Nascar all time speed record is 33 years old... now adays it's not fastest car, its who can work the system and cheat the rules the most.
The point of limited power in racing cars was to see which DRIVER, and team, was better
i.e. if cars are all equal in power then best driver, and car setup(team), wins, not the fastest car

RamCharger90 wanted to "poop" on the rice rockets, so electric is the way
You can sneak up on them all quiet like, then watch them get smaller in the rear view mirror :)

When a Tesla breaks 218mph on an oval let's chat. And that record was set by a carbureted 350 ci engine. Electric ain't beating internal combustion in terms of raw speed yet... records are set by explosions, not sparks. The day will come... but it ain't here yet.

99% of people will never get to go anywhere close to 218mph so acceleration is a much more important factor.

  • Tesla Model 3 Performance: 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds. ...
  • Tesla Model X P100D: 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds. ...
  • Tesla Model S P100D: 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds.

AHEM! *clears throat*

Yeah.....I can see pj doing a mark 8 rear and awd a star front with the awd sploder case and sc 2.9

With all junkyard parts .

That is a real fawkin hotrod ranger.

Maybe a built 4r55 even for leisurely passing of suburus at the rallies.
