A recent study revealed that most studies are pointless.

Case and point. A recent study found that the survival rate of people jumping out of an airplane using a parachute was no different than those who jumped out of an airplane not using a parachute. True study and true results.

I don't count birthday's anymore...just happy to be looking down at the ground instead of looking up
Never could understand the point of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with just a patch of cloth over your head.
Of course, I still can't understand how something as big and heavy as an airplane can fly. I'm much, much lighter than a plane,
and I can't fly !!! I can fall real good though !!!

it's not the fall that kills you, rather it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

Falling is basically flying... with less control.

I try really really hard, but no luck.
I see some airplanes have this whirlly twirrly spinning thingy up front...maybe that has something to do with it.
But I have some fans in my home with the same whirlly twirrly thingy's and they don't fly...
:icon_rofl:

Can you all tell I don't like to fly, at all...
Would rather spend 2 days to drive 1000 miles than 2 hours to fly 1000 miles.

Just the right size to touch the ground.

With the waits at the airports now, anything under 1000 miles is not that much of a time saver.

Agreed. If the cost is less or similar, I’d rather drive than fly in those aluminum sardine cans they call commercial aircraft. I don’t hate flying, I just hate the whole hassle and commercial flight process.

No. That was the point. Studies leave out important details and data to make them look favorable but all everyone cares about is the headline results. It was actually a study done on the stupidity of studies.

You can't trust a "study" unless you read said "study" first hand in its entirety. Otherwise you'll end up thinking jumping out of airplanes with no parachute is perfectly safe.

Plus this is also the internet so half the crap is fake to begin with.

A Boeing 777 has 3 million parts made by 900 different suppliers who all submitted the lowest bid.
It's certified by a govt. agency that is paid off by the manufacturers to not find anything wrong with any of those 3 million parts, or how their put togather.
Then it's flown by pilots, some of which are barely paid minimum wage, or by others who may or may not be drunk or high, or haven't slept in 20 hours.
Your stuck in the back like in a cattle car, and hoping that the pilot isn't one of those nuts who decides that this time he's gonna do the suicide thing right.
And you wonder why I don't like to fly.
Grumpaw.
